About
Hello, my name is Ryan Newburn and I am an American landscape photographer living in Iceland. Originally from the cornfields of Nebraska for all of my life, in 2014, I decided to sell everything that I owned and book a one way ticket to Japan where I would spend 5 months walking across the country from south to north. It was then that I would start shooting with my first digital camera. Over the years, I would go on to live, photograph and hike across New Zealand, Australia, and eventually ending up in Iceland in 2018. Since coming to Iceland, I immediately fell in love with the glaciers and the story that they tell our world. After 2 years of glacier guiding for a company, I decided to start my own glacier photo company, Ice Pic Journeys. Today I lead people onto the ice and photograph their experience as they learn it's story.
